  FERNANDO is and was amazing. Great service and amazing food! Will be back! Oh and the frozen marg was delightful!

  Went to the new location in Jackson. A new restaurant on a Friday, of course it was loud and busy. The entry was packed with no fewer than a dozen people waiting to pay. The guy who was ringing them up was too busy to greet people coming in. I stood for several minutes and no one acknowledged I was there. An unsmiling waitress shoved her way past me 3 times, without saying a word each time she bumped into me. No excuse me or sorry, much less saying someone would be with me soon. There didn't seem to be anyone seating customers. Finally I gave up and left. The food may be good, but I'll never know.

  Time for an update... I used to like this place. Used to. The last few times I've been, service has been horrible. I always get the same grumpy looking guy and he is far from friendly. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. My wife and I went to have dinner together and didn't get very far. Of course, got the same guy... we were seated by a hostess who gave us chips and salsa. After we were passed by the server 4 times he came and begrudgingly took our drink order. After we got our drinks we watched and watched as he passed us. Each time he passed he looked at us. Taking things to and from other tables. What ticked me off the most was that he went to a table that was seated after us and began taking their order. We drank our drinks.. ate the chips... never got a refill. He passed a few more times. He never came back!!! Well, not so good sir, as a result I will never come back to this failing restaurant. Goodbye Don Carlos! It used to be nice to know you.

  This is the best Mexican food in the area. I have been disappointed since I moved here in 2000 in the quality of Mexican food available. I am so glad I gave Don Carlos a try. The service is great and everything I have tried has been delicious.

  First off, it was fathers day.  We expected there would be a long wait.  Tried another place and couldn't get in at all.  Got seated quickly and they served the obligatory chips and salsa.
  We were ready to eat anything at that point.  It was a long wait.  Exactly what we would have experienced anywhere else that day.  We finished 3 baskets of chips and a river of Salsa before the food arrived.  
  
  I had the "Enchiladas Mexicanas".  I was excited to have it because I tried this for the first time at another restaurant close by and loved it.. When it came out it was literally three corn tortillas filled with overcooked cheese.  I ordered it mixed chicken and beef, it was mounded all over the top..  You had to dig through the meat to find the poor tortillas underneath.  I'm sorry but it wasn't the least bit appetizing.  I ate what I could and left the rest.  
  
  Not going to down them too hard.  They are kind of new and they do a good business here in Cape Girardeau.  Maybe something different next time.  I'm still pulling for them.
